History

The next Northwest Agribusiness Executive Seminar (NWAES) will be held November 13-15, 2017, which will be the eighth session offered since its inception. Patterned after the Harvard Business School agribusiness seminars, the NWAE Seminars focus on improving the understanding of the challenges facing Northwest based agribusinesses and strengthening the management capabilities of those responsible for leading these businesses.

The first NWAE Seminar (2006) was developed by Chet McCorkle, Professor (Emeritus), University of California, Davis, founder and director of the California Agribusiness Executive Seminar from 1989-2003, in collaboration with Ken McCorkle, Executive Vice President – Wells Fargo Bank. Since 2010 Clark Seavert, Professor in the Department of Applied Economics at Oregon State University has been Executive Director of the Seminar. Washington State University, University of Idaho and Oregon State University are co-sponsors of the NWAE Seminar.
